I've built 2 ships so far and both were by Artesania Latina so I can't really give an opinion on which is best but I am surprised at the number of votes for Art. Lat. I don't think their kits are very accurate, their instructions are poor, although the color picture booklet is a nice touch, and their support is non-existent.
But, like I said, I'm new at this.

I generally like Model Shipways kits but check out the 'rigging plans' for the Prince de Neufchatel.
