Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Hi Jay.
Welcome aboard. I’m an old model ship builder myself. Well, actually I’m just old. I’m afraid that you will find that, other than some new tools that are available, model ships are built the same old way. Time, patience, and loving devotion are still the primary requirements of successful model ship building.

I think that more than new methods and tools, you will find inspiration and help from the many fine modelers here, from novice to advanced.

Again, welcome aboard.
Bob

Hello Bob , thank you for the nice welcome:) I used to live in glendale AZ and currently have some rental property's in Mesa , Avondale, Tempe. and that's something I never have been able to get used to (born and raised on California Coast) where as a Very young kid fell in love with ship's. and started modeling them. sorry to say we didn't have a Great Resouce such as this site, and wonderfull people such as your self to turn to for help. my best resource was my Grand father (past away at the age of 9 when I was a young kid. therefore every wood model ship I compleet I still dedacate to my Grand father and I am at the age of 74. However when I am building I can still hear his voice saying "builder her (the ship) like you love her"...lol and that's what I do!. over the year my wife uses the same moto she says "I built you as I love you " Perhaps she Needs a better Practicum lol.

Jay
