Some of you with long memories may remember when I posted this, in 2008 !
Quote: Well hello again to all my friends!............. Sorry, but my daughter had a talking Barney which was her favourite and that saying is indelibly stamped upon my consciousness. Well, I originally joined a year or so ago with the full intention of jumping right in to this excellent hobby after 'going a bit mad' on eBay and buying several (lots actually) wooden boat kit bargains. But I was overtaken by 'events dear boy, events' as a one time PM of ours once said..........so I have only recently got round to opening the box from Corel and I've managed to build myself a hull.... :O) I will post some pictures soon so you can point out all the errors I have no doubt made in my first endeavours.........all advice, gratefully received. Okay . . . so I didn’t post any photo’s at the time and once again, I was overtaken by events & time. Scroll on some 4 years to the present date and at last I feel that I can finally “contribute something” to this excellent web site. I now have pleasure in presenting my “finally” ☺ finished Corel section of H.M.S. Victory, complete with custom made display case. This was my very first attempt at a “real” kit, having only ever worked on Airfix kits previous to this. It’s a while ago since I completed her, but I sure learned a lot about the basics of planking and rigging over the time I spent constructing her. As I say, she was my first and I had a blast making her, which has set the scene for further forays into this wonderful hobby . . . more of which to follow; hopefully without the 5 year hiatus this time. LOL. ☺ Here are the photo's I promised you guys all those years ago If they don't appear . . . forgive me, but I haven't tried this before! |
