Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Hi Karl and welcome to the forum. You have chosen an interesting ship for your first project. A replica of the Hermione was launched last weekend from Rochefort, France. Over the next few months it will have her masts and rigging fitted before sea trials. The ultimate aim will be to sail her to the US. Good luck with your build. I may be able to help with the detail if you need it. Have a look at my gallery page. I took quite a few pics during her build.

Regards,

Rudeau (Chris)

Thank you very much Chris. I will be sure to check out your gallery pages. I have progressed pretty well thus far. I am now at the point of adding the tackle to the masts. I find myself lost here because the plans are not quite clear or detailed enough. So I have been researching exhaustively. I hope to find some help in viewing your gallery.

Regards,
Karl

Hi Karl,

I see you have reached the stage of adding tackle to the masts so I'm not sure my photos will help as they were taken during the building of Hermoine's hull - prior to any masts being fitted. However, if you need any extra help, you might try googling ' Lennarth Petersson'. He has produced a great generic guide to rigging period ships.

Good Hunting,

Rudeau (Chris)
