Thanks for assistance - a 1/60th model of the barque - Tom for recommending a thicker version of aluminium foil and palting the vessel with embossed rivets ( yet to find this in the UK so any hints appreciated) also Chris for directions to research for photos.
Hull now complete as are detailed bulwarks, waterways, freeing ports, hawse ports etc. as well as fixings for the standing rigging.
Have fabricated anchor winch and chain stoppers in forecastle ( shame they're nearly invisible) Various deck houses now await fabrication as do vents and hold covers. I will fabricate a donkey engine just because it deserves to have one.
Decking will be done when the hull is plated and sprayed. I've trialled using wafer thin decking, sanded, sprayed with matt varnish - rubbed with acryllic black and wiped down with meths - finally a finish coat of matt varnish. This shows the caulking and deck fastening well.
Over time a number of photos have been obtained - 32 from the Smithsonian. Two from San Francisco Maritime Park as well as fragments of history. Oil paintings also exist - done for the owners or majority share owners so should be accurate enough.

Have
read that many high standard models were rigged with copper wire - suitably blackened - does anyone have experience of this?
Also making replica bottlescrews for the standing rigging - any advice
