Hello David, I am building my first wooden ship and had some serious concerns about planking it. Here is a link to my build log. http://shipmodeling.net/vb_forum/th...hip-model-.html I received a lot of well meaning advice, but nothing clicked for me until I contacted a local club. I learned a different way to approach planking and ended up with a pretty good looking hull. The method is covered in my log. Take a look and see if it helps you. Good luck and post pictures.
