The following tool has never been useful for any reason especially in the field of Hobbiests

Thanks for the interesting and useful link Henry.
I've had one of these saws for a while now and for cutting the assortment of timber sizes that are the most common with kits I'm quite impressed with it. I too switched the blade for a finer B&D one I happened to have in my toolbox and I cobbled together a fence from a 6" stainless steel ruler and a couple of small C clamps. My next project is likely to be a scratch built Maine Lobster Boat and I'm planning on using the saw to rip down some pine for hull planking. With this job in mind I'm also looking to build a bigger bed and a better fence and I'm thinking of using a kitchen type resin cutting / chopping board... I reckon it's an ideal material for most of what I have in mind.
