Now on to Nina. There's something that looks like it could lift the spar but it doesn't look right. For the foremast, there are two square shaped blocks with 4 holes in them. On the lower block, two lines go from the block to a rail. Then there are two lines going between the top two holes of the lower block, to the lower two holes of the upper block
Then two lines go up from the top of the top block to a sheave in the mast, above the spar. I suspect this is supposed to be a pair of double blocks; at any rate it would look better than what they present. Anyone have any thoughts on this? It's a "show and tell" project for my fifth grader, and a learning exercise for me so I'm not too concerned with absolute accuracy. But I am trying to improve my skills along the way |
