I am embarking on this new adventure and look forward to dialogue on how to build a sailing ship with rigging. I have had a love of models for a long time, and just recently have retired so that I have time to do that again. I have not built anything recently (40 years ago was my last effort) and I look forward to getting feedback on how to avoid the mistakes I know I will make if I try this on my own.
Very glad to have found this forum. I read some of the past responses to questions and there is a LOT of collective wisdom in the group. |

Hi Mitkey. Welcome aboard. As far as kits are concerned one must make careful enquiries about their quality. Many members on this site would be pleased to advise. I recently purchased a kit from Corel of HMB Endevour and have been most disappointed. The parts leave a lot to be desired and the actual ship bears little resemblance to the real ship. I have virtually scratch built it making up parts myself based on "The anatomy of the ship" book, which is excellent. Anyway, good luck with whatever you are working on. Jonathan.
