To all Members.
Hi. I'm starting a Ship Modelers FAQ. You can view the page here - Ship Modeling Forum - Questions and Answers (open in a blank window)
I've set it up initially with nine categories:
A - Preparation
B - Hull - Keel to Planking
C - Detailing - Deck Houses - Fittings
D - Painting and Finishing
E - Rigging
F - Miscellaneous
G - Tools - Hand and Power
H - Shop Layout
And - Ship Modeling Forum - FAQ (A test category - you can try this out by clicking on the link and a new window will open up. Just click on any of the Questions, and the Answers will appear).

Before I begin to add questions and answers to the categories, I would like members to first take a look at the FAQ, and see if you think it may need more categories.

As I add Q's and A's (Member contribution would be appreciated!! Hint, hint! (open in a blank window)) to each category, members are welcome to send me Q's with the respective A's for any category they wish. Speaking of same, here is a list of 'Questions (open in a blank window)' for Members to browse through.

This could be quite an addition to the Forum and would benefit all, both newbies and old salts.

Thanks, John

PS. I'm not going to make the FAQ public until the Categories are more populated.

Default Re: Ship Modelers FAQ

I think that a section on masts and yards would be very useful. For example, I am currently at that stage on my model of HMS Fly and the plans are not that specific on the correct way to attach the yards to the various masts. Some use parrals and others appear to use more permanent fixtures.
