Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Default Transom decision

36 hours into Artesania Latina Bluenose II and I started the planking of forward deck, as I am planning the next future steps I foresee a problem with fitting the transom to the rear of the deck, the back end is curved and the transom supplied is flat plywood 1.5 mm thick. Do I try to bend the transom to suit the contour of the deck?... Has anyone built this model previously, advice would be most welcome.

Default Re: Transom decision

You might take a look at the AL Bluenose II practicum  available for free download in Word or PDF format at John Earl's Model Boatyard website. He addresses the problem of the incorrect transom in the AL kit, as well as other inaccuracies.
