Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Default Cradle decoration

I'm building a model of Endeavour for my son and was thinking that it might be nice to have something extra to go with it when it's completed. As I wasn't about to go diving off the Rhode Island coast to get a piece of the ship, I had to think of something else.

I found a company called dugup in the U.K. and bought four Navy uniform buttons from the period and mounted them on the ends of the cradle for the model. I was quite pleased with the result, and if they ever become really valuable, he should be able to pry them off without too much trouble.

I like it, great idea. I am building the Bluenose so I can use the Canadian 10 cent coin, it has the Bluenose on it. Thanks now the ideas are flowing
