Default Mamoli 1:90 scale HMS Victory

Hi Guys/Gals

Am new on here, having found your site on google.

I recently bought myself the victory kit having been a merchant seaman in the past and having a love of all things to do with knots and ropework. The prospect of all the rigging on this kit is right up my street.

I am following the instructions religiously but have come across my first hiccup.

The 4 doors on the upper deck that you paint and attach to the bulkheads in the covered area you create are missing from the kit. The windows are there so I had to cut a few small bits of the wood that you use to plank the hull and mark the outline of the window bit of the door instead.

can anyone please advise me at which point you varnish the deck etc as I dont want to get too far into it only to find I have gone too far.

I have uploaded a few pics showing my model at the point I am up to so far, and will keep poppin a few on as I go.

If anyone else has done this kit and feels like poppin a few comments on please feel free.

I found the 4 posts showing the planking of the boat on here, with the 2 layers and the trunnelling, I only hope I can get mine as good as that.

looking forward to reading comments.

cheers.
