Hi guys, just found this Forum and it looks like just what this old bloke has needed. I've been modelling for about 45 years off and on, so I hope I can give someone out there a tip or two, and pick up a few thousand myself.

Danny:

Welcome aboard. Looked at your photo's and think your work is excellent; The experience shows. I'm sure you'll have many tips to share; so, don't be shy in answering questions that might come up.

You should start a build log of your Sovereign of the Seas in the "Projects" forum.

Hi James,

Yes I will start a Build Log - as soon as I get the kit.
Which brings me to my first question :
I have never made a Mantua model before. What is their quality like, compared say to Corel or Artesania? I regard the quality of both these as reasonably good - mostly good points, some rather ordinary.

Cheers,
Danny

Danny:
I have no experience with Mantua. But, another forum member just posted complaints about limited instructions and no photo book.

That shouldn't be a problem for you, with your experience. Nothing was mentioned as to the quality of the kit's parts. See "kit instructions" by lesser 160 (Alan) in the "most recent posts" section. You might want to post in that thread and ask about the quality of the kit parts.
