Hi all;
I have been toying with building models of both versions of the Bluenose. I have seen a lot of company photos from various model makers but I need to know if the models of the Bluenose II are really the current version or just renamed models of the original. I believe the II has an engine and propeller as well as a radar installation on the mast. I don't mind scratchbuilding if i have to but it would be nice to find the two different versions in close to the same scale. Also what is the largest scale available? Any help would be appreciated. I think the II also has lifeboats on the main cabin.

You could even build one of the next version, which is currently under construction. A few months ago there were a couple articles in Model Ship Builder's Journal about Bluenose IV. I think one of the articles said that model plans would be available eventually.

Nice site Gary,
I'll use the info as a picture frame display when I finish my Bluenose. I did the same for my other ships, makes a nice addition to display.

hi Dennis --
Great idea ! - always nice to add to the completed model . Being a "bluenoser " , and having sailed aboard Bluenose 11 , I have a fond attachment to her , as do most Nova Scotian's . HOLD FAST !
