Default Model Expo Airplane kits? Anyone ever build one?

Hi,
First off I hope the admins see this post cause I want to say THANK YOU for the birthday e-mail. That was unexpected an awesome, made my day! (I spent my birthday alone and bored, but it got me thinkin bout modeling again!)
Second I received an e-mail from Model Expo about their Sopwith Camel Model. I've seen a few of these types at air museums and always thought I'd like to build one. I'm thinking of giving it a try. Any shipbuilders ever try a plane model like this? If So how does it compare to ship modeling? I've built LOTS of R/C plane kits, and LOTS of plastic plane kits (almost every US NAVY plane ever flown in 1:72 scale) so I do know a little about planes. But I've never tried a replica wood model like this. Any input welcome!
Tim

I have built the 'Albatross' by Model Airways. It was an early release kit where as the castings were fairly poor, however the rest of the kit was top notch. I have read else where that they have since improved the castings.
You should have no problem building the Camel. These planes compare more to building a R/C plane and plastic kit than they do ship modeling.

Thanks Brian!
I'm just having a tough time getting back into modeling.....I have a Constitution cross section that's 50% complete and Fishing Boat, can't remeber the name, that's about 25% complete that I've been working on/off now for 4 years! I have several BRAND new kits that I've never even opened....I want to but can't get motivated. I don't have my shop anymore, I have a much bigger one but it's never been set up to used!
I've been inteested in planes lately so i thought I'd give it a try. How did th albatross come out?

I haven't built a balsa model plane for a long time but since you're talking about the Sopwith Camel, I thought I'd reply. I built some WW2 planes and a helicopter (strictly for display) but they didn't seem very realistic no matter how hard I tried. Then I built a Spad XIII from a Guillows kit and I thought it was much more realistic, since the actual plane was fabric over a wooden frame.
