Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. I am building BlueNose II using the Lauck Shipyard practicum. It is my first model ship project and the practicum is an absolute life saver for me as a beginner. I plan to do the AVS next and then the Constitution.
The photo disks have been well worth the extra cost. They fill in gaps not covered by the written instructions.
If I had attempted this kit with only the supplied instructions I would have a ruined kit. As it is I have a complete, painted hull and am working on deck furniture.

Hi Gene,
Sounds like you are really having fun with the Bluenose. Post some photos when you get a chance. I'm also building the Bluenose. Just finished painting hull. Got some clean up to do. Not too happy with it right now.

Hi Dennis,
I just posted a pic of the painted hull. I am happy with it but I am such a newbie that I may be too easily satisfied :).

Gene, Your BlueNose looks great. You mentioned doing the AVS. I think you'll absolutely love it, especially with Bob Hunts instructions.

Thanks guys,
Your comments are greatly appreciated. I am into masts and rigging now so I don't guess it will be too much longer before I can tackle the AVS.

Well, after 20 months I have finally finished my AVS. I got it mounted in it's display case this past week. I have posted some new photos in the gallery. Now I just have to figure out what to do with it! I had an acrylic case made by a local plastics company and they did a great job of it. All I had to do was make a base for the acrylic case to sit in and that was that. But is was a fun project and I am very pleased with the final product. Hope everybody else is doing well with theirs!

If anyone wishes to discuss details I will be happy to answer questions.
