Default Mantua Titanic

I have emailed Mantua three times about what seems to be a spare part,it's two pieces of mahogany that has no number on it, but in the instruction book it says it is 727/15.
But doesn't tell me what it is or where it goes!!
They have not answered any of my emails, and this is from the mantua help line.
All I can think of is how ignorant is that, had I known this I would have spent my money somewhere else.
Harold.

Hi Harold.

OK.. I found the instructions for this part at Cornwall Model Boats. The pictures don't give much away, except to show four parts 727/15 in pic 72, which are probably repeated on the opposite side.

I found an online build that may help. Trim

The parts are referred to as trim, and are mirrored each side.

Hope this helps,
Bob

Hi Bob,
thanks for the reply, but in my instruction book 1 pic 72 just shows the stern being covered in model span tissue. So I will try that Trim site you mention.
I sent another email off to Mantua this morning, and I shall keep sending
one till they reply.

All the best with your build.
Harold

Hi Harold.

It is shown in instruction book 3 (727)

The website is an RC one, click HERE for the site.

The link takes you to page 3 showing the fitting of those pieces.

All the best,
Bob

Hi Bob.
Your a life saver, I didn't think that 727/15 went on the hull, like that.
I would have built the boat with those bits of wood spare, then found out, to my frustration!!!
I also logged on to that site you recommended, it was brilliant seeing how that guy was building his Titanic.
According to him I seem to be a box of parts missing, Ive got number 1/3/4 so I will ask Cornwallboats about it.
Thanks a lot,I can go to sleep now.
Harold.

Hi Harold.
Sorry for the delay.
I don't know the distances, I'm afraid.
What I've just done is use the photographs of the bow and side shots to make some measurements.
Measure the plank size, and the distance between them. On that picture the planks are 5mm wide and the distance between 5mm. Measure your planks, and resize for your width.
I can't tell from the instructions how wide the planks are.

As for your missing kit parts, Kit No. 2, part 726, is the RC control set, so unless you bought the RC Kit you don't get it. The static kit comes with 1, 3, 4, and 5, items No. 725, 727, 728 and 729.

As for Peckin' my Head, that's OK. I thought my wife was the only one who used that expression when the kids mither her!
All the best,
Bob

Hi Bob
I printed out the shots of the bow and stern, from that RC Groups site , you mentioned. It looks as though the planks are about 5mm apart.
It was good to watch the dutch guy's build, hope mine turns out like that.
I bought the static model, because I don't drive and there are no ponds near me, and if there were I would look stupid walking about with this four foot six model under my arm.

It seems it is the 729 box that I am missing, so I will get that from Cornwall boats.
Thanks again
Harold
