Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Hi all, I've added a feature (on a suggestion from Surprise (Jan David) (open in a blank window) ) where adding to the Glossary Section will increase a member's post count (one count per term submitted)

Here's some examples:
JD's profile (open in a blank window)
One of JD's posts (open in a blank window)
Glossary submission (open in a blank window) (near the bottom of the text box)
Search results (open in a blank window)

Cheers, John

Hopefully this will get more members to post glossary terms. The glossary has been kind of empty.

Challenge accepted!
Since my progress on the Holland sub has been slow of late, I've added some of the more obscure shipwright's terms to the glossary (some more obscure I daresay than Wirewolf's?) .
Most came from an excellent Google book that some of you may know about: THE ELEMENTS OF WOOD SHIP CONSTRUCTION by WH Curtis (http://books.google.com/books/pdf/T...ul1IrLFlPqhdQXA )
The attachment shows one of the many excellent illustrations in the book.

As for the Holland, I need to shoot some updated photos as I've added the interior bulkheads and the rear machinery space deck. I need to add the superstructure next (glued up last nite) so I can prime paint the hull inside and out. Then it'll be on to a very long list of interior and exterior details to be built and added.

I was just wondering if there could be a breif definition of Nautical Term and Shipwright Term on the submission form. I was second guessing myself when I added "Brackets" the sides of the gun carriage.
