Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Re: Thin guage Tin or Steel modeling

Re: Thin guage Tin or Steel modeling

Pete:

No, I didn't mean copper plating. I meant building the model out of nothing but thin gauge tin or steel sheets except for maybe the miscellanous piece of wood here and there.

I posted an...

Re: How to develop a scratch bui model?

Don:

I take it that you have used one or several 3D modeling software packages. Do you have a favorite? Why is it your favorite?

Question How to develop a scratch built model?

I am doing research for my second model, the 'Peter Iredale'. She was an iron framed steel hulled four masted barque launched June 1890 and ran aground while making for the Columbia River bar on...

Re: Hms Victory

James:

Re: Plan measurements

Richard:

Maybe I'm missing something here...but,

By my math if 1' = 3/16", then 6' = 6 x (3/16") = 18/16" = 1 2/16" = 1 1/8"

I'm thinking that your plans are ok and are not out of scale.

You are...
