I've used card stock .007 thick on HO scale small boats. That's around 3/4" Works OK for flat bottom skiffs and maybe dories; but won't bend into compound curves you need for ships boats of... |

Every time I look at a picture of this kind of deck on some fine old wooden yacht I think "laser cutting" even just for the king plank. You could laser cut the rest of the planks; but the grain... |
