Wood Model Ship Appraisals

Hello everyone. I know this appraisal issue has been discussed here before. I am not looking for an appraisal for selling purposes. I want to add to my insurance coverage a rider covering my model. First can this be done and second is there a qualified person, in the Detroit area, who can do this kind of appraisal ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Marc.

Yes. it's called a "Fine Arts" rider on your homeowners policy. You would need an appraisal service that is approved/recognized by your insurance company. Best bet is to call your agent or the company itself and see who they can recommend in your area.

Also, look these up - Galleries and Insurance for Models
