No, I'm not suggesting but asking.
A question for the experts... delve back to the days of yore, given your knowlege today, what would be the list of 10 tools you think would be indispensable when just starting out if you could do it all over again. Anything from an awl to a zippo listed in order of importance. This could potentially be a great time and cost saver. My list? :=(( ( my ignorance might show through good work bench light and magnifier ship modelers vice plank holders nail push hammer CA glue Xacto knives, three sizes needle files tweezers rigging tool set, including scissors/dissecting scissors |
The list you have is very good. I might add a cutting mat. Get tool to have.
Check it out here: http://www.hobbico.com/tools/hcar0454.html Not expensive either. \:D/ |
You've got a pretty good list there. It took me years to build up my tool collection to where it is now. And there's always Fathers' Day, Christmas and or Hanukah, Birthdays, Mothers' Day (don't you always give your wife shop tools for Mothers' Day?), Wedding Anniversaries, etc... ](*,)

Ya forgot the white glue! #-o

Oh yes! White mat and cutting glue! Got it! #-o
Seriously though, I spent my fair share for a good set of tools this time. Life is easier in the long run if you know what I mean. I can't remember how many hours I've wasted threading blocks or fixing frayed knots from dull scissors or fixing rigging because the tweezers were too short to reach the inside knots. This is something I wanted to do since I could remember. Treat yourself good, now with that said, I guess I'll buy the Latte machine after all! |

When I get a chance I'll upload a photo of the rigging tools I made up. They're very easy to make yourself. Took me a long time to build up a decent tool bin. Just get a few at a time, and before you know it, you'll have quite a set of tools. \:D/ Latte? Not Expresso? |

Latte? Not Expresso? Tried Expresso, too much caffeine. You should see the WILD looking rigging with that stuff!!!! |
Me? I sip fine wine and listen to classical music while working on my models. Very mellow! =P~
