Default Re: Oiling a deck

Alan,

I used tung oil on my last two models, and medium viscosity CA (cyanoacrylate) glue worked just fine for me. It takes a while to set, but the use of an accelerator ("kicker") speeds things up. Depending on the situation, spraying the kicker directly on the edge of the joint (watch out! for surrounding painted surfaces which may be affected), or spraying it on a Q-tip (beware the fuzz) or toothpick and dabbing the joint or target surface first, makes for a nearly instant bond.
