Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Jean-Pierre's Additional Information:
Birthday:
December 10, 1942
First name:
Jean-Pierre
Location:
Belgium
Occupation:
out of business
Biography:
Have been an active member of IPMS for 35 years but still only into ship modelling. Just finished a plastic Soleil Royal which took me 22 months to finish, and just begun my 4th wooden model. My main problem is lack of space to exhibit the model cases.
Interests:
photography and computing
Current Project Name:
Yacht Mary by Mamoli
Status of Project:
building the deck and hull fittings
Current Modeling Project Description:
Yacht Mary is my 4th wooden model (built most plastics to a good level sofar. This kit is of good quality and the drawings beautiful (only 1 noticeable mistake). Wood for 2nd planking was worthless in my case (diagonal grain, rough and brittle) But this will become a fine model I think - IT IS NOT TOO LARGE. Other models were a.o. Victory & Soleil Royal from Heller, Hoogaars by Mantua, Pen Duick by Le Baron and Galioot from Canav.
