Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Description » The drawings described in this list have been produced to meet the needs of those wishing to build authentic scale models, and every care has been taken to ensure accurate detail. In the case of named ships they have been compiled from the original builders' plans and specifications, personal survey of the actual vessel, or both. Where possible, any changes made during the life of the ship have been noted on the drawings, but in cases where this has not been done, any information on the subject will always be welcomed.

1,093 Ships Plans
Description » By Howard Chapelle. This comprehensive book covers the development of the American fishing schooner from the early 19th century to the last working and racing schooners of the mid-30s. Well illustrated with many plans showing the vessel's development, the book also includes a 300 page glossary-appendix which annotates in words and drawings many details of the ships that are hard to find elsewhere. The interesting thing about this appendix is that most of the illustrations are taken from the author's notebooks.
