Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Default Hello from Canton Ohio, USA

My name is Bill and I'm primarily a plastic modeler of the ships and aircraft of the first and second world wars. Hoping that, if, I can complete the Heller 1/100 HMS Victory, it will lead me to wooden kits. I'm looking for all the help, advice and motivation I'll need to turn this kit into something presentable.

Glad to be aboard!

Bill

Bill: Welcome aboard

You're the second new member in a week working on Heller's Victory (I can't remember the other person's name). You two should get together and start a "projects" thread.

I Look forward to following your progress. The Heller Victory is a very good, detailed plastic kit. It won't give you any experience in planking the sides, but it will give you a lot of practice on the rigging.

Thanks Don - Will do!

Automerged Post:
Thanks James. There's actually a forum on another site that's dedicated solely to building the Heller Victory, and it's proving to be an invaluable resource. I'm here, hoping to find something similar - a practicum etc.. - on the Revell Constitution which I'd like to start working on as well.

Hi Bill --

I don't recall a practicum for Revell's Constitution . I built her several years ago and recall Revels instructions/rigging plans were excellent .
You can download the instructions/plans for Model Shipways Constitution from their web site .

cheers
