FYI, As I browsing the nautical terms I came across something interesting. The term larboard means the left side of the ship as opposed to starboard the right side. The term "Port" is used to direct the helmsman so that he doesn't get confused by the close sound of the two terms "Starboard (right)" and "Larboard (left)"
I always thought larboard was a different pronunciation of starboard. You live, you learn Pete
