If you want to upload images (or docs in text or doc format) directly to a post but not to the Photo Gallery, follow these instructions:
Under the text editing box (New Thread or Replying to a post):

Look for this Additional Options screen (click on the Manage Attachments button):

This screen will pop up (hit a one of the Browse buttons):
http://shipmodeling.net/vb_forum/images/linked/upload_manage_2.jpg
Navigate to where your image or doc is in your computer (make your selection and hit Open):
http://shipmodeling.net/vb_forum/images/linked/upload_manage_3.jpg
Image and or doc is ready to upload (hit the Upload button or make another selection):
http://shipmodeling.net/vb_forum/images/linked/upload_manage_4.jpg
Image and or doc has been uploaded (hit the Close this window button or make another selection):
http://shipmodeling.net/vb_forum/images/linked/upload_manage_5.jpg
The uploaded image and or doc will display as an attachment (if an image, clicking the thumbnail will display the full size image in a new window.
If a doc file, user will get a download prompt):

If you need to upload more than 3 images or docs, just repeat the process. You can upload up to 8 images and or docs in any one post. If you have more than that, just start another post in the original thread. Images are to be no bigger than 800 by 600 pixels each and no larger than 300 KB's in file size each, Doc, no larger than 1000 KB's each.
If you ever want to remove an attachment, just use the Manage Attachments option again:
