Michael:
Welcome aboard neighbor. I live in Aloha; It's amazing how people are so alike; I'm "ex" many things, scuba, police, flying are only a few of them; although I didn't get my pilot's license (I bought a motorcycle and was too busy "flying on the ground" to finish the course.)
I understand your need for "stress" relief. At the time the m/c was mine but became stressful in it's self (all those traffic stops!)

Don has suggested "blue Jacket" version of Conny (a good solid hull kit), might I suggest you take a look at Model Ship ways version? A most impressive plank on bulkhead kit (I have it in the closet, waiting for me). Both of these kits are "advanced level" and will lead to frustration for some one just starting out.

If this your first venture into model ship building, you might want to consider something easier to start with (less stressful, you have enough already). Many of us here started with the Phantom Pilot Boat from MS; There is an excellent down-loadable "Practicum" here on the website to help you with it. Get it done in six months or less, submit four photo's to MS and the cost of Phantom goes toward your purchase of Conny. What a deal!!

Might I further suggest Tammie's Hobbies (my toy store), it's on TV Hwy North of Fred Meyer's ;"Len" is the salesperson who does trains and ships (tell him I sent you) He sometimes does discounts on kits that aren't selling well (I got $100.00 off on my Conny)

The usual disclaimer: I have no connections to MS (other than they have a lot of my money  )
