I use a lot of epoxy,it can be messy to work with on your work benck, with some of your other glues. I keep a telephone book on my work bench and it is very good to mix the epoxy on and to pour other glues on. When you are done just turn the page and you will have a new clean one again to put your glues on. The work bench stays clean.

Never thought of this one! I'll have to try it. Have you tried this with white glues like Elmer's or Weldbond? Just wondering if the phone book pages would tend to quickly wick out the moisture in these glues. What the heck, I'll try it! Cheap experiment, after all! I have been tearing off a piece of waxed paper and using that until it gets too cruddy to use anymore. This sounds a lot easier and it is nice and contained.

Being cheap, I use the following technique. I have received and continue too receive a specific type of square junk mail in the form of a 1/64" thick flattened cardboard. I'm pretty sure you and everyone else receives this material also,.

Hating to throw them out since I believe It's a waste of material, I'll cut some of it into an inch square and some a half inch rectangular by 1" in length.

Keeping them in a bowl on my hobby desk, whenever I need to apply glue, I'll take the type piece that will fit my need, apply some glue and smear it over the area in question using this small piece of cardboard, when finished, I then feel justified in throwing it away.

Have you thought about using damaged CD/DVD's. Whenever I get a Cd or Dvd that crashes or when I update my files to a new disk I use the old disk's for gluing. They are small and does not soak up any moisture. You can use them for Any type of glue's. When you have no space left just brake up and get another one to start over. You are going to dispose of them anyway so why not utilise in another way?
