Hello
I went to my local Hobby shop and couldn't find the nails I used to find when I lived in France.
steel. length 5/16. small head and a heavy 1/32 in diameter thickness.
I like those for the 1/20 scale to nail the band keel and tha chain plate which will not be in chain but in 3mm wide brass strips.
any idea where I could find them.
thanks a lot

Philippe,
What you describe sounds like ordinary "brads" that you can buy at any hardware store.
Welcome to the U.S.A.

Hi Fred,
I've already been to Lowe's though and couldn't find so small, I'll take a closer look and will find an other hardware store in Town.
thanks for the welcome to the US, I'm very very happy here, my wife is from here.
hopefuly I'll find them in a local store
have a nice memorial day

Philippe,
I just measured my #18-5/8" brads. I find they are a tad fat, like around 3/64". I have never seen #20 brads in the hardware stores, that's not to say that a good store wouldn't carry them, and that's probably closer to what you want.

You might find a model railroad store, they have interesting little nails and things.

Hello, sorry to have not answered earlier, I've been busy. I looked at those nails, there are to big, especially the head. i asked the owner of my local hobbyshop and he's going to try to find them.
So hopefully I'll have them soon, my last try would be to ask my friends in france to send me some, I'd rather find them her though.
thanks

Hello,
sorry to have not answered earlier, I've been busy. I went to the hardware stores around and couldn't find so thin, so I went back at my local hobbyshop and asked the owner if he could help me out, he thinks that he might find them, hopefully I'll have them soon, my last try would be to ask my friends in france to send me some, I'd rather find them here though.
in metric the diameter is 1mm.
thanks

The track nails I use on my n-scale train layout are 1/2" lg, 1/32" thk with approx 5/64" head. You can these at train hobby shops, Hobby Lobby. If you want a sample send me your address via PM & I'll be glad to send some.
