In the proccess of building the Morgan, some of the deck furniture on the actual ship is copper (top of tryworks and cooling tank). After building the cooling tank out of wood and sanding and sanding and sanding, then painting with copper enamel, still wasn't happy with the results. I then remembered a trick I read about many moons ago, that is, take aluminum foil, contact cement both the wood and the foil, let dry and stick the foil onto the wood. Burnish it down well, trim to fit and it looks like metal. 2 coats of copper paint, then 2 coats dry brush flat black, just the look I wanted. Just a thought for anyone needing anything like this. Good luck to all!
