Has anyone built the Ben Latham? I can't figure out how the transom is going to pull together. I am going to try to attach a picture. The transom piece is installed at about a 160 degree angle and I can't figure out how the planks will butt against the transom piece and I can't find any pictures or explanations that show it. The Bluenose transom is much different so that doesn't help. Thanks.

Steve,
Thanks for the advice. The thing is that I've filled in the the space from behind the last bulkhead to the tip of the false keel. The kit comes with a laser cut transom piece and the plans show it attaching to the end of the false keel and extending about 1.5 inches aft at a slight angle up from the natural flow of the stern. If you've seen a picture of the BL stern it is very thin without much of a transom at all. You are right on about the technique with most builds but this stern is very different than most, even the Bluenose which is a very similar hull. If only I could find some good pictures of the hull transom being put together...
Thanks for your help!

Steve,
Thanks for helping with the research. I think I've figured out how the hull planks fit against the transom peice. You are absolutely correct about the filler material in the stern for the hull planks to be secured to at the transom. Thankfully I had installed the fill and it came in handy. My next dilemma is how the bulwarks and rails tie in but that's next weeks project. I did make a command decision to plank the hull so that it's solid. I've had to use some odd pieces and it looks like I will need some filler in places and might need to do some sanding but I figured since the hull is going to be painted and although I'm not a purist (perfectionist, yes) my method shouldn't matter as long as the hull is complete and faired. With that in mind, I'm making progress and having some fun. I was going to attempt to write a practicum since there wasn't one out there but I think the Bluenose is so similar it would be a waste of a lot of effort.
Oh, I tried to bend the transom like the instructions indicated but it was impossible to bend. It did want to bend with the grain but unfortunately that was the wrong way.
Thanks again.
