I've found a really great looking ship in Chapelle's The Search for Speed Under Sail and I wonder if anyone can fill me in with more info or a possible source for plans. Beginning on page 102 he discusses an American brig called the Swift and shows some basic plans and one photo of a model (no source given) and mentions it was taken into the British navy as H.M. brig Swift. It's a lovely ship and I would like to know more. Thanks for any help you can give.

G,day Richard Aeropiccola used to supply a kit for the brig swift, I dont know if it is still available, but I know that Modellers shipyard sell a set of plans for around $21 australian, the web site is www.modelshipyard.com.au, and the address is Modellers Shipyard, PO Box 150, Blaxland, New South Wales 2774, Australia, I hope this helps you, best regards John.

Thanks a lot for the info, John. Aeropiccola is out of business and while the kit is still available from other dealers it's a bit larger than I want to work at this time (880 mm long!). But the plans should be useful as I can reduce them to a convenient size.
