I'm trying to find a way to paint the fine text details on my Bluenose. I thought of a stencil but the sizes I see are too large. Please [-0< ... I'm too scared and nervous to try and paint the small letters by hand. Is there a better way?

\:D/ Wow! Nice new home we have here. Got to feel my way around though and get used to the new set up.

Sorry Dave. I'm not too good with painting detailing either. All I can say is "Practice-practice-practice". I had to do it a few times on some of my models and I used a little cheat. Make your own decal. I used my computer to print out in the font (and size) I needed for the particular model on fine paper that matched the background color of the surface it had to go on. If the background was black with white lettering, then that's what I would print out. Carefully cut-out the decal and glue it to the surface.
Now as for scrolling, well that's even harder. But if you have a good image editor, you can do the same thing on your computer.

Dave; Have you considered press on letters that are available commercialy. They come in many sizes. I have used them on my custom flyrods when I want other than a hand signed apperence. The letters come in differrent colors and fonts. The ones that I have are "Chartpak-Velvet Touch Lettering" which I have had for years. After applying a name or whatever to the rod the letters are then coated with Flexcoat, a flexable Epoxy. Hope this helps! Walt

Have you tried italicized script printed on rice paper, or decal material from your printer. Maybe a reversed print in yellow, light blue or even red? Soto the same way that tattoos are transfered to skin. Someone on Braddock forum; I don't remember who right now had come up with a few ideas, for when I was asking about putting Flying Fish on my project. With them being down until the 28th, I wont be able to get that info for you until then.
