Q
How do I make eyebolts? *(jemontgomery)
A
Don't. Go to your local large fishing tackle retailer and check out the fish hooks. They come in all sizes from tiny (midge hooks) to huge (shark hooks), also shapes(bent, straight, short long, anything in between). Colors are usually black, brass, or silver(steel). All are easily painted.

While on the subject of fish hooks:
1.Fly tying thread is small and strong (seizing and block tying)
2.The fly shop provides all sorts of tools for easy application of threads.
3.Swivel connectors can be used for dead-eye chains, small blocks and turnbuckles. (again in all sizes).
